Overview
Sailboat Coffee & Gelato is a concept coffee shop and ice-cream parlor located at a vibrant marina in Westport, CT. Popular with locals and tourists, this trendy coffee shop needed new branding.
Solution
Taking cues from the nautical flags, and with a mind towards a relaxed environment for friends and families with kids, I developed an illustrative collage of martime patterns, and applied it across menus, collateral, cafe accessories, and environmental design. Inspired by the ocean waves, the logo is based on modified typeface Eklektyk Stencil paired with Coquette. A contrasting pairing of Soleil and Contralto add personality to the brand with their refined appearance. The vibrant color palette is a fun play on traditional nautical colors. In addition, I designed and illustrated the kids coloring page that doubles as an origami sailboat.
